Session One Highlights



  • During the first session, we run all the traditional camp activities (see tab to the left under 'Camp Activities') as well as daily riding for the first ten days.
  • In addition, this session session offers two extraordinary "Special Features!"

Prescott Frontier Days Parade and Rodeo

Every July Orme Campers participate in the Prescott Frontier Days Parade and attend the Oldest Rodeo in the World!


The day begins with riding on a float in the parade...



Campers then head out to a nearby park with ramada and
eat sack lunches...

Then it is off to the World's Oldest Rodeo!

Pack Trip To Grand Canyon National Park   

At the end of the second session the campers take a three night camping trip to Grand Canyon National Park where they ride a mule in the canyon!  Campers and counselors divide into work crews performing the daily chores of setting up tents, cooking, cleaning, wood gathering etc. - "pitching in" to create a camp community on the road!
